Suboxone Doctor in Miami: Dr. Mitchell’s Clinic

I Had A Good Day On Life’s Roller Coaster Today
by Dr. Robert Ben Mitchell, D.O. - 786-262-5750

During the recovery process, good days can seem like unicorns: nice but imaginary. Yet, with perseverance you can have a stable recovery with good days. This doesn’t mean there won’t be any bad ones. It just means that there will, in time, be good ones, too.

I look at my recovery process like a roller coaster that’s half above water and half below. Some days I’m cruising above the surface, while on others I’m holding on for dear life after having plunged beneath it. This “stable” recovery can be harrowing, but so can life.

We can’t always have fun. It would be like looking at the same color all the time: soon we’d go blind from lack of contrast. Life’s hard, yet it can still be fun, so that’s the contrast we must endure: sometimes our roller coaster is above water, and sometimes it’s not.

In the end, the best advice I can give you is this. When things are going good and your riding through the air, enjoy it but be prepared for a downturn. And, when things are bad and you’re holding your breath underwater, hang on and remember that at some point you’ll break above the surface, once again.
