Suboxone Doctor in Miami: Dr. Mitchell’s Clinic

Idiocracy verus Recovery
by Dr. Robert Ben Mitchell, D.O. - 786-262-5750

Looking out onto the world, it’s hard not to notice the crumbling infrastructure that controls and dictates our lives: meaningless, petty, seemingly arbitrary rules and regulations that demand conformity without reason or reward. How many more days must you wake up and go to a job that doesn’t provide a living wage, let alone the opportunity for real advancement and financial security? How many more hours must you wait in lines to get to places which only require you to wait in line some more? How much more bad news - yours personally and society’s at large - must you hear before something good happens in your life?

Unlike addiction, recovery is not flashy or exciting? In fact, beyond being frequently boring and redundant, it can often seem like a maze of idiocracy: a nonsensical, even demeaning world of harsh stupidity that drains our very life force and desire to thrive.

There is no avoiding this when you’re maintaining a stable recovery, because stable does not mean happy, fun, or even desirable. Stable means learning how to deal with difficulties without relapse. Stable means not relying on drugs to erase our physical and emotional pain. Stable means learning how to live with difficult things, even things that we don’t understand, like idiocracy.
